In July we attended a Careers Day for Year 9 students at Stradbroke High School. This was our first time attending a Careers Day and we were unsure what to expect, but the staff were really helpful and we soon got into the swing. The event gave Year 9 students the chance to chat to businesses in the local area about what they do and what they can offer school leavers, such as apprenticeships. We quickly learned that attracting the students to engage with us would be better aided with interactive games and freebies, which we have taken on board for next time. However, once we got them engaged they asked lots of questions and took notes in their log books.

We look forward to attending further Careers Days in the future, at Stradbroke High School and others in the area. If your school has an opportunity for us to participate, please contact Beverley Bloomfield on 01379 424008.
