Carnival Collaboration

The Target Shootout Competition was a big hit with kids and adults alike, at the Diss Carnival on Sunday 16th June. Diss Town Youth Football Club & CW Logistics Ltd (who sponsor the club), ran the competition, where club coaches were kept busy organising the players and running round after footballs. The competition increased awareness of the club, grass roots football and raised much needed funds for the club. We can’t wait to do it again next year!

ISO Accreditation Success

Once again we have been rewarded for our great systems and continuous improvement throughout the business!
Following our annual ISO audits last week, we have passed with flying colours and will have our certificates up on the wall shortly
The principles of ISO have been fully integrated into every aspect of our business and have driven us forward with purpose and focus. With several projects in the pipeline this year, we look forward to seeing further progression and a continued retention of our ISO accreditations in the coming years.
Thank you to Liz from MMC, who is always a pleasure to work with. We highly recommend Liz and the team to anyone who is thinking about applying for ISO 9001, 14001, 27001 or 45001.

Gold Award Success for CW Logistics Ltd

This morning we heard that we have achieved the GOLD award for the Suffolk Carbon Charter. As a business we have worked hard to find new and better ways to reduce our emissions over the last two years and we are extremely proud to have met the criteria required to get GOLD.
We are also working with our customers to help them reduce their emissions and are encouraging them to apply for the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Accreditation and their Carbon Charter Awards. Both of these accreditations have helped us create a more sustainable and environmentally friendly workplace.

Well done to everyone who works at C W Logistics Ltd for helping us to achieve this.

Carbon Footprint Achievement 2022

We are so pleased to have exceeded our Carbon Footprint Target in 2022, having worked even harder to reduce our emissions.

✔️ Replaced fluorescent lighting to a reduced number of LED sensor & emergency lights in 2 warehouses, warehouse canteen / office.

✔️ Changed our shrink wrap to one containing 30% recycled plastic which has a better stretch capacity so we use less.

✔️ Replaced two diesel/petrol company cars with fully electric models.

✔️ Replaced further warehouse trucks with electric models.

✔️ Reduced our general waste and nothing goes to landfill, being incinerated to produce electricity (click here to find out more).

Our Carbon Reduction Action Plan for 2023 is in full swing and we hope to exceed our target again this year (click here to find out more)

Carbon Reduction Action Plan Update 2023

As part of our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint we produce an annual Carbon Reduction Plan. We have recently updated this to include further investment in LED sensor lighting in another of our warehouses and replaced the office lighting with a reduced number of LED lights. Further replacements are being considered in the coming months.

We are continuing to research ways to reduce waste within the business and our composter is being filled with the many tea bags we get through! We recycle as much packaging as we can and regularly research suppliers for greener solutions.

MacMillan Bake Sale Fundraising Success

On Friday 29th September we held our annual MacMillan Bake Sale, which was a great success. Thank you to all of our employees brought in both home baked and shop bought cakes to create a fabulous spread to tempt everyone. We had lots of visitors from the Roy Humphrey workforce and other businesses around the site, including our own team. Thank you to everyone who donated, we are so happy that we raised £300 from our sale. Our Directors have once again agreed to match the amount raised, making the grand total £600.

Diss Town U11’s Football Team Sponsorship

As part of our community support initiative for the year, we are proud to be sponsoring the Diss Town Under 11’s Football Team (the Hawks). Their football ground at Bressingham Playing Fields has become the CW Logistics Ltd Arena and we recently sponsored their Fun Day, where they raised over £3000 to help support the club.
On Saturday 9th September , the U11’s played a fantastic league game against the Salvation Army Saints, winning 7-0. Well done to the team and keep it up!! They are hoping to play a friendly this week, so we will keep you posted on the result.

Stradbroke High School Careers Day

In July we attended a Careers Day for Year 9 students at Stradbroke High School. This was our first time attending a Careers Day and we were unsure what to expect, but the staff were really helpful and we soon got into the swing. The event gave Year 9 students the chance to chat to businesses in the local area about what they do and what they can offer school leavers, such as apprenticeships. We quickly learned that attracting the students to engage with us would be better aided with interactive games and freebies, which we have taken on board for next time. However, once we got them engaged they asked lots of questions and took notes in their log books.

We look forward to attending further Careers Days in the future, at Stradbroke High School and others in the area. If your school has an opportunity for us to participate, please contact Beverley Bloomfield on 01379 424008.
