As part of our community support initiative for the year, we are proud to be sponsoring the Diss Town Under 11’s Football Team (the Hawks). Their football ground at Bressingham Playing Fields has become the CW Logistics Ltd Arena and we recently sponsored their Fun Day, where they raised over £3000 to help support the club.
On Saturday 9th September , the U11’s played a fantastic league game against the Salvation Army Saints, winning 7-0. Well done to the team and keep it up!! They are hoping to play a friendly this week, so we will keep you posted on the result.

In July we attended a Careers Day for Year 9 students at Stradbroke High School. This was our first time attending a Careers Day and we were unsure what to expect, but the staff were really helpful and we soon got into the swing. The event gave Year 9 students the chance to chat to businesses in the local area about what they do and what they can offer school leavers, such as apprenticeships. We quickly learned that attracting the students to engage with us would be better aided with interactive games and freebies, which we have taken on board for next time. However, once we got them engaged they asked lots of questions and took notes in their log books.

Once again, CW Logistics Ltd is proud to report that we have retained our ISO Standards Certifications in ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems) & ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems)

Each year the auditing process, carried out by McKibben Management Consultants Ltd, becomes smoother and clearly  identifies the improvements made within the business during the year. By integrating the principles of ISO into all areas of the business, it has gone from strength to strength. Every member of our team actively engages with the principles of ISO on a daily basis, which enables them to contribute to changes in the way systems run with the business at every level, helping to improve and streamline them.

We highly recommend the certification and integration of ISO standards within any business, to develop and improve management systems across all areas.

Our new Work Experience programme was put to the test last month, when we welcomed Nick, a Year 10 student from a local high school, who spent a week with us.

Nick had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a wide variety of jobs across both the office and the warehouse, supported by members of the team. We provided Nick with a Work Experience Log to complete during his week us to help him take notes about skills he learned, we also gave him a copy of our programme plan with feedback from the team on his performance.

Nick expressed that he thoroughly enjoyed his week and felt that the experience had been very positive. It was a pleasure to have him with us and he was enthusiastic and motivated throughout the week.

Our Children in Need challenge for 2022 is underway. The challenge was suggested by some of the warehouse team at 100 press ups, sit ups, step ups or star jumps every work day in November. We also have some going for 18,000 steps. Some have even opted to do 100 of all the exercises!!

We are super proud to have achieved the ISO 45001 standard in September. Our inspection went really well and we would like to thank every team member for their hard work and contribution towards achieving certification.

The three ISO standards we now hold have helped us to identify gaps and continually improve every area of the business. It isn’t just tick box exercise for us, we have integrated the systems into everything we do.

As part of our commitment to supporting the welfare of our staff, some of our managers and senior staff recently undertook and passed a ‘Mental Health Awareness for Managers’ course. Congratulations to Paul, Kelly, John, Ian and Andris for completing the course. Having staff in all areas of the business, who are aware of the signs and symptoms of those struggling with mental health issues, means that we are able to offer them support and guidance on where and how to get help. 

Thank you to everyone who visited us to buy cakes and helped us raise an amazing £240 on the day. Management have generously matched the amount we raised and so we have an amazing £480 to donate to MacMillan Cancer Support.
